A manufacturing business based both in the Midlands and Portsmouth had no designated HR department and their HR policies were out of date.


After the company contacted Atlas HR, we arranged a meeting with them to understand how we might help. Our professional and fully experienced consultant was able to gain a detailed understanding of the business and its associated operations, at the same time recognising the organisational culture. Whilst there were no serious HR problems, there were a number of legacy cases that required resolution. Through detailed discussion, the business decided to opt for our retained HR services option to provide proactive HR support.


Our approach was to review and update the company Staff Handbook in order to reflect legal updates whilst reflecting the actual needs of the business. This involved the provision of clear and concise policies and procedures, removing previous ambiguous versions. The next step was to train line management in the new policies and provide coaching support on an ongoing basis. In managing the change, we were visible on site when required and, before long, line management were contacting us directly to discuss their people-related problems.
